In November, 2003, I was announced the winner of the Student Design Award by the Helena Ad Club.

Teachers

I've been really lucky to have been taught by three amazing designers. The first teacher to introduce me to design fundamentals was Linda McCray. Linda is a talented artist who resides in Helena, Montana. Her talents range from painting trains and landscapes, to designing flyers for the St. Helena Cathedral. My second design teacher was Elizabeth Windram. She is currently working in the UI department at Google. My third design teacher was John Zimmerman, a professor at Carnegie Mellon University. I took John's Interface and Interaction Design course. John really pushed my design skills to the limit. The in-class critiques in John's class were priceless. I'm not sure if John ever knew this, but my classmates and I nick-named him Jay Z. Yes, he really is that cool.
