In the design for this book cover and layout, I tried to portray a 60's pop-art theme.
Lessons in Typography
In the above piece, I tried to make my initials lose the mundane appearance of being letters. My goal was to draw the viewers eye along the curves of the letters.
Concert Posters

These three posters were designed to advertise a concert. Each poster targets a different audience. My favorite of the three is the poster with the black background and bright pink stripe; I designed it with an alternative/80's rock band in mind.
Assistive Technology
I designed this poster for my Assistive Technology course, taught by Jennifer Mankoff. The challenge of this poster was that it is very large: 3 feet by 4 feet. I made sure the poster had three levels of reading: the first level caught attention from afar, the second level was visible a few feet away, and the third level could only be read when the viewer was just inches away.
Physical Computing: Wearables
Since I am interested in social psychology, I designed a wearable device that would facilitate social interactions among people. This device I dubbed Match because 1) it helps people match their interests with others, and 2) it also 'melts the ice' in uncomfortable social situations. I designed Match so that the majority of communication is human to human. Match simply initiates the communication, it does not replace it. Match wasn't designed to initiate intimate relationships; it initiates friendships and decreases anxiety that many people feel when in public places.
Widget Re-design
The task was to re-design a widget. The definition of a widget is an object on a device that allows you to change the state of the device, such as turning it on or off, or increasing the volume. The objective of the assignment was to find a poorly designed widget and re-design it. I went to the local department store and after searching in the kitchen section, I came across a device that had four different uses: it was a TV, radio, flashlight, and compass. It contained this huge nob on the right side that was used to select TV and radio stations. There were three major problems of the original widget, all of which my new design overcomes.
